Air Conditioning :- For human comfort we need air conditioning system. Air conditioning means not only to mainatain room's temperature but to condition the air as well. Means in air conditioning we maintain comfortable temperature, air purification, control humidity, control odours and maintain level of oxygen by ventilation. Air conditioners are designed to maintain a temprature not below than 16 degree celcius. But human comfort level according to ASHRAE is from 20-24 degree celcius. An air conditioner should not run at temperature below this limit to protect human body's health.
Their are some types of air conditioners with variable cooling capacity (TR) available in the market according to space required to be conditioned according to heat load calculation. This calculation is done after building survey in which some terms are considered like orientation of building, latitude and longitude of building, outdoor weather conditions, design perameters, purpose of use of buildings (Hotel, Hospital, Residential or Commercial), etc. Different perameters are taken into account for different kind of buildings to calculate heat loads.
But air conditioning for Hospitals is bit tricky and design calculations are totally different for hospitals.
Application of Air conditioning:-
1. Automobile Air conditioning.
2. Air craft Air conditioning.
3. Marine Air conditioning.
4. Train Air conditioning.
Automobile air conditioning designing is bit difficult because of use of glass whis is always exposed to sun is maximum for its body and heat from engine is high.
Refrigeration :- Refrigeration is totally different from air conditioning as their is no concern of human comfort. Refrigeration is required to increase life of eatable products by slowing down the micro organisms life cycle. Refrigeration is used for production of ice in a common refrigerator in our home and in factories to produce ice at large volume. A refrigerator can't be used as an air conditioner as Refrigerator is used to control the temperature of a tiny space inside it and when we open the door the system cuts off and so is the cooling.
In refrigeration system temperature below -20 degree celcius can be achieved. Refrigeration has no concern with air purification, cfm control but it only controls the humidity level.

2. Commercial Refrigeration.
